Amazing local lunch at Konoba Cakula in Porec.
Homemade Gnocchi filled with local cheese and served with truffles prosciutto and mushrooms. Totally convincing.
Then freshest locally fished branzino served with potatoes (topped with espalette pepper) and julienne carrots and zucchini, all with the right seasoning of garlic.
Malvasia house wine was the perfect choice.
We came here on the last day of our Croatia trip and were immediately warmly welcomed by the staff. We chose from the suggestion list, which was with pumpkins and mushrooms during the local season, and it was honestly the best food I have had in a looooooong time. Superb service, amazing food and a cosy setting. It doesn’t have a touristic feeling at all, which I prefer when travelling myself. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone in the neighbourhood l. If I would come back to Istria one day, it would be to try a different dish on their menu for sure.
One of the best places we have been in Croatia. Very good fish, but also very good vegetarian options. The risotto needs to be mentioned. It was also cosy to sit outside.
Amazing food, service and Location! Everything is so delicious and pretty well presented with a touch of family atmosphere. We went there for three times during our stay in Porec, and we are most definitely coming back next year.
Good service and good food.
My partner chose the Istrian ham and cheese platter and watched the ham being carved from the joint.. so very fresh. Great salami, tasty hard cheese and fresh bread (not stale for once).
I ordered the steak (rare) with truffles. It was served rare as ordered…tender, tasty.
The staff were attentive and friendly.
Early October is out of season, but the place was still busy on this Saturday evening.
Our last night in Porec, we tried this restaurant which is just off the main drag. You can sit outside and watch the world go by which is always nice.
We had the Lamb Rack with Lamb Sauce and Vegetables which was very good and the Turbot Skirt with Chorizo & Mustard Sauce which was not quite as good but well cooked and presented. With a couple of beers the final bill came to 345HKR or around £42 which is terrific value for a restaurant serving good quality food in a nice location.
Truly recommend to everyone. The food was delicious and the presentation on the plate deserves 5 stars. Fresh fantastic vegetables no cost cutting in the ingredients if you order Steak with truffles it is beautifully covered with it.
